Keep reading to learn more about what the trim lineup has to offer.

Breaking Down Your 2025 Silverado 1500 Trim Options

The Silverado 1500 has long been at the top of its class, outperforming many other trucks thanks to the many amenities it offers. For the 2025 model year, the nine trim levels available include the Work Truck (WT), Custom, LT, RST, Custom Trail Boss, LTZ, LT Trail Boss, High Country, and the ZR2. Each of these options gives you the choice of rear- or four-wheel drive, other than the Trail Boss and the ZR2, which are exclusively four-wheel drive. You will also find that each of the trims builds off of the one before it, providing you with more features and amenities as you go up the line. The information below reviews some of the highlights you will find in each trim.

Work Truck (WT)

The WT is exactly what you would expect it to be: a solid workhorse for drivers who use their trucks to get the job done day in and day out. First, it comes standard with a TurboMax engine that delivers up to 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. That engine is paired with an eight-speed transmission. If needed, you can also power up to a 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 that provides you with 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. This choice is paired with a 10-speed transmission. On the inside, you will find a 40/20/40 split-bench front seat with under-seat storage, single-zone climate control, the ability to sync the infotainment system to compatible phones through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, a 3.5-inch Driver Information Center, and a 7-inch diagonal color touchscreen through which you can control apps from your phone.

Custom

The Custom trim level comes standard with the same TurboMax engine found in the WT. No other engine options are offered. Other changes from the WT include upgraded technology, particularly when it comes to towing, as you will find a standard Trailering Package that has Hitch Guidance, among other things. As far as remaining connected during the drive and being able to access your favorite playlist, the Custom trim offers the same amenities as the WT. It is worth mentioning that the Custom trim comes standard with the Custom Convenience Package, which provides you with remote start, rear-window defogger, LED cargo bed lighting, EZ lift power lock and release tailgate, and more.

LT

While the LT offers the same engine options as the WT, including the 5.3L EcoTec3 V8, it also adds another option into the mix. The available 3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel engine, which is paired with a 10-speed transmission, offers up to 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque. Other standard and available perks of the LT trim are remote start, wireless charging, and a Safety Package that adds things like HD Surround Vision, Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert Braking. This trim also upgrades the Driver Information Center to 12.3 inches, as well as the touchscreen for accessing various controls from a 7-inch diagonal color touchscreen to a 13.4-inch screen with Google built-in. It’s also worth noting that you can add on the Max Trailering Package, which gives you more towing capacity, among other things.

RST

The RST trim level is where the engine side of things gets interesting. Not only does it offer the same standard TurboMax engine found in the other trims already explored, but it also offers the 3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel and the 5.3L EcoTec3 V8. If that’s not enough, you can also choose a 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 that provides you with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. Other than that, one of the biggest perks of choosing the RST might be the option to choose a Rally Edition. This edition offers specialized detailing, both inside and out, that truly sets it apart from the other trim levels, such as black assist steps, a black chrome exhaust tip, black branding on the tailgate, and black bowties on the steering wheel horn pad and front grille.

Custom Trail Boss

Other than the 6.2L EcoTec3 V8, the engine options for the RST trim are the same as for the Custom Trail Boss. However, there are differences. For instance, at this trim level, you can opt to add an Upfitter Switch Kit, which allows you to program electrical components, such as exterior lighting, to turn on with a simple flip of a switch. The feature adds convenience and time management if you’re using your truck for work purposes. It’s also worth noting that this trim does not come standard with the larger touchscreen mentioned for the LT trim but actually includes the same options found on the WT.

LTZ

The standard engine for the LTZ is the 5.3L EcoTec3 V8. However, you can opt for the 6.2L EcoTec V8 or the 3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel engine. Another change is that the 40/20/40 split-bench front seat with under-seat storage that is standard for all the trims explored so far is not available with the LTZ trim. This is key if you rely on that space. Still, there are other perks to discover, such as standard wireless charging, available rear under-seat storage, a Bose Premium Sound System, Power Tilt and Telescoping Steering Column, an up-level rear seat with a storage package, Hitch View, Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert, and much more. Additionally, Front and Rear Park Assist, Safety Alert Seat, an Inside/Rear Trailer Camera Input, and an available Rear Camera Mirror are upgraded safety features you can enjoy.

LT Trail Boss

This trim level comes standard with the TurboMax engine, but it does provide you with the opportunity to upgrade, if you will, to the other engines already mentioned. Additionally, you will find that this trim offers the under-seat storage in the front row, as well as available wireless charging, an available Bose Premium Sound System, and the up-level rear seat with storage package mentioned when reviewing the LTZ—which might make it the best option to choose if you spend a lot of time in your truck and want to make sure there is a space for everything. Regarding technology and trailering, you will see many of the amenities already discussed either as a standard feature or available.

High Country

The 5.3L EcoTec V8 is the standard engine for the High Country trim, and while it allows you to make changes, choosing either the 3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel engine or the 6.2L EcoTec V8, the TurboMax engine is not an option. What is an option, however, is Super Cruise. This hands-free driving software allows you to take your hands off the wheel and enjoy a relaxing drive when traveling on compatible roads. Additionally, it offers many of the connectivity features and trailering upgrades that have already been mentioned, which might make it the ideal option when taking longer road trips or towing the family camper on the weekends.

ZR2

This model is the only trim level that comes standard with the 3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel engine; however, you can opt for the 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 if you would like. One of the main reasons that drivers choose the ZR2 is its exceptional off-roading capabilities. The ZR2 comes with its own suspension package, which includes a high-performance lifted suspension and multimatic DSSV dampers. It also comes with skid plates and 18-inch Goodyear Wrangler “Territory Blackwall” tires. You will also find technology and trailering features onboard to keep you connected and to bring added confidence if you’re towing your ATVs out to the trails.
